iCloud sync doesn’t work.
iCloud sync doesn’t work.
This has been my only task app for a long time on both Mac and iPhone, but the Mac version no longer syncs automatically with DropBox. Reported to the developer but they’ve sent no response. Really sad to drop my rating down because of this. Update: Seems the problem with DropBox sync was with DropBox itself. Fixed DropBox so it would load properly and now Due is working right again. Still no responce from developer, but I’m happy again.
Tried Drobox and iCloud. Syncing is very unreliable. Always getting an iCloud error, and the DropBox sync rarely makes it to my iPad or iPhone. Would be a five-star app if the sync would get fixed. Cannot recommend for now.
I was excited to try this and use it with my mac and my iphone / pad. However, all of the timers count down. I need a timer that countsd up. I thought that feature would have been intuitive
Due is a great little app that works across MacOSX and iOS. It keeps its data centrally on iCloud or Dropbox, so create a to do item and it’s immediately availabe across all your Apple devices. It’s not intended to be an all-singing GTD app like OmniFocus (which I also use). Tasks that go in Due are ones that I don’t want to see in my calendar, and aren’t ‘important’, project-oriented ones that would go into OmniFocus. Its competition are smaller apps like Clear, which is generally easy to use, but is missing the ability to easily, in a single action, postpone tasks as they come due. You can customize 4 quick-access default times of day, and default postponement times. While the Mac app is still at version 1 while the iOS version is at 2, they have been, so far, fully compatible and similarly easy to use across platforms. Thanks to John Gruber for the initial recommendation to check this app out. Big win.
I’m an avid user of Due on iOS and love it; the new UI is phenomenal. So I decided (was forced) to buy Due on OSX just to get sync to work (because, unlike all other reminder apps, Due doesn’t support sync with iOS reminders). The sync via dropbox from OSX is not reliable, which basically defeats the purpose of purchasing this app. Needs better sync, needs UI update for Yosemite, needs to be compatible with iOS reminders.
I love the iOS version and use it all the time, but I’m often on my Mac so I got this version. However, I found it ususable because of the sync issues - tasks I create rarely sync properly so I’m left with two list with many discrepancies between them across devices, which is a pretty fundamental drawback. I am unable to use this until the sync issues are resolved.
The iOS version work fine still, but this one (on my laptop) does not work at all. Genuinely scared to update (as those things happen automatically) this app on my desktop. TIME FOR THE DEVELOPER TO QUICKLY REVIEW WHAT IS GOING ON!!!
I love this app so much. I hope they update the look to be more inline with the current Mac operating system, but honestly it is still so good I ain’t even mad at it.
no breakup into due today, tomorrow, next 7 days liek the ios app no proper documentation (help menu) no way to change keyboard shortcuts for things like new reminder, postpone by x, delete no way to customize the time intervals to psotpone a task by natural language processing weaker than ios apps - saying call jim in 2 days will schedule correctly but then will not delete the ‘in 2 days’ from the title of the reminder as the ios apps do. not worth $10 when the ios apps are better and 1/3 the price
I’ve recently started up using Due again (back to school) on iPhone and I was wondering if there was a Mac version and not surprisingly there is. I just downloaded even though 10 bucks is 10 bucks but if the quality is like the one on the iPhone there is no reason to skimp out on a great service. I hope the developers read comments, which I’m fairly sure they do. For the iPhone app it’d be nice to have voice memo reminders, that’d be a nice feature to have, as well as taking pictures or adding *attachments* to reminders. Those are the 2 that I’ve thought of would take the app no the next level I’ll be giving this Mac version a try and getting a feel for it, I thank the developers for their job well done.
I had to find a new reminders app because Apple’s badge county doesn’t work with my iphone. This one has been very good. Works and syncs across my mac and iphone using dropbox. I wish it would add syncing with google calendar or icloud better for syncing.
I love the IOS app, but I’m on my mac all the time, so I thought having a counterpart on my laptop would be useful. It should be, except the UI of the Mac version is not very good, nor intuitive. More important, the syncing between the two is terrible. Syncing is supposed to be in the background, but it never works that way. I have to open the app on my iphone before it will sync, making the whole point irrelevant. Please fix this. I’m a fan of the app, but paid good money for the desktop version and so far it’s a dud.
I really liked this app. If you are really busy, you need an app like this to help you stay on target and on time. I have the iphone app and the app store app. The only real issue from my perspective, is that when I check off a task as completed on my mbp, the iphone app doesn’t auto-update so alarms are going off well after I’ve closed the task on the computer. In fact, unless and until I pickup the iphone and do an update, etc., alarms just keep ringing. I really do like it. But my family is over the continual iphone alarms.
But can you please enable me to mark a task done on the growl notification? I hate having to search for the app on the main bar and open it, then check the task done.
This app works great if you use it on one device, MAac, iphone or iPad. Trying to use it across all devices is frustrating to say the least. It needs to be constantly running on the Mac. You need to manually sync if you make changes on the mobile devices. Enter a reminder on your ipad, it will remind you on the iPad, not on your iphone nor on your Mac. To me, this is worthless.
First — I am very pleased with the iOS version of Due 2.x, and decided to buy the Mac version for desktop syncing and being able to keyboard enter notifications instead of screen keybs. Unfortunately, after installing the MacOS version of Due, I begin to get occasional kernel panics (full system crashes to black screen) on a previously rock solid 2012 retina MPB system running 10.10.4. After upgrading to 10.10.5, the Kernel Panics increased to daily occurrences, seemingly randomly, and while I was using any foreground App or external hardware combo. Analyzing threads in the crash log wasn’t identifying a specific cause of the crashes, but eventually I noticed that my Mac was crashing at the same time as I received Due notifications on my iPhone 5s. I decided to remove Due three days ago and my system hasn’t kernel panicked since. I’m not sure if the issue is with Due, Yosemite, or another software incompatibility, but I have stopped using the app for now (which as others have noted is not as polished or functional as the iOS version.) It’s admittedly been six months since the last Mac OS update, but I will probably give the next version a try and see if the crashing stops.
I cannot say enough great things about this app. I use it everyday for: * Remembering medication * Watering plants * Keeping a journal * Taking out the recycling * Returning library books The interface makes setting reminders super easy. Its even more helpful that it syncs with the iPhone version. Keep up the great work Due!
I just installed Due, so I might be mistaken, but it seems to me that it is a TIMER, not a REMINDER. I see n owhere where I can ask to be reminded on, say, 1:30 PM on January the 14th. I’m looking for a easy-to-use app that can do this. This one doesn’t seem to qualify.
This is the app i finally settled down after trying dozens of higly paid apps on Appstore. Get this app with no regret. This app will make your life better by getting things Done. The repeating reminder and quick postpond options its a great app fot GTD. Sync is very Fast with my Iphone and Ipad. All the best on GTD.
